Stanley F902 Window & Door can

Stanley F902 Window & Door

4 of 4 confirmed$11.991 x 12 oz

Cheapest documented window foam on September 7, $9.99 a can, with low expansion and low pressure stated in a dated sheet.

Window and door foam is a gap filler chosen for one property: it expands gently enough not to push a frame out of square. That property is the whole purchase, so this page asks one question of every can. Is the low-expansion or low-pressure behavior stated in a dated document from the maker, or only in a marketplace title?

The word PRO tells you about the gun, not about the expansion.

A gun can is not a window foam because it fits a gun. Two brands say their foam is "proven not to bow" a frame, and neither names the test. Read the expansion statement, shim the frame properly, and fill the gap in stages, because no foam on this page publishes a pressure figure.

How this page is ordered

Four things we could confirm, and nothing we could not

  • Brand data sheetA technical data sheet published by the maker for this product. A safety data sheet or a web page is recorded but does not earn the mark, and where a sheet carries no date or revision the record says so.
  • Claim checkableFor a window foam, "claim traceable" means low expansion or low pressure build is stated in a dated data sheet. A title that says "low expansion" with no document behind it does not count.
  • Brand-channel sellerThe Amazon seller of record is the brand or a storefront that carries only that brand in our intake. A multi-brand reseller or an unbranded trading company does not earn it.
  • 100 or more ratingsOn the listing we link. A feedback base, not a verdict; how we read reviews is a separate guide.

Products are ordered by how many of four things we could confirm, then by the size of the buyer-feedback base: a dated technical data sheet from the brand, a category claim you can check against a figure in a dated document, a marketplace seller that is the brand or its single-brand distributor, and at least 100 ratings on the listing we link. This is not a performance score. Nothing on this page was applied or tested by us.

At a glance

7 window & door products, in evidence order

The number in the first column is a position, not a score: products with more of the four things confirmed come first, and ties are broken by how many people have rated the product. Under each heading is how many products on this page cleared that test. A circle means we looked and it was not there. Prices are the October 29, 2026 snapshot for the cheapest bare-can listing we hold; ratings were read October 29, 2026. Prices are snapshots, each dated where it appears, not live figures, so check the seller before you pay. Tap a name for the full record.

Window and door foam vs regular foam

Each window and door can beside the same brand’s gap filler

What a window and door can promises over its brand’s gap filler is lower expansion and less pressure on the frame. Across the 5 brand pairs below, all 5 window and door cans say so in words, and none prints a pressure figure, so the promise cannot be checked on paper for any of them. In 3 of the 5 pairs the two records give the same figures on at least one row, and of the 2 brand pairs we could price in the same pack, the window and door can cost the same, within a percent, in both.

Desk note

The best-selling TYTAN can in the intake is the 12 oz straw can, and the dated sheet behind the family names a different one, the 24 oz can. For that can the sheet says what a window foam buyer wants to read: a low pressure, low expansion formula in the maker's own words, "AAMA/FGIA verified to not bow windows" with AAMA 812-19 named, the full UL 723 result to ASTM E84 at flame spread 15 and smoke developed 10, and an application range down to -4 F. The 80 to 110 percent figure on the same sheet is a secondary increase in volume to EN 17333-2; it describes how much the bead grows, not the force it puts on a frame, and no pressure figure or AAMA report number is printed. None of it is verified for the 12 oz straw can, which the sheet does not name. As on every TYTAN sheet here, the same table also prints DIN 4102 class B3 and EN 13501-1 class F.

  • The sheet on file names the 24 oz can only; we hold no document for the 12 oz straw can listed here.
  • AAMA 812-19 is named with no figure and no report number.
  • No tested thickness or laboratory for the UL 723 result.
  • The 20 to 50 percent more yield than competition line names no competitor and no method.

Buyers who want the DuPont can without the kit will not find that option in the intake.

  • No dated document. The "proven not to bow" claim has no named test.
  • Only a complete kit is listed on Amazon; no bare can.

Not listed, and why

Products we know of that are not on this page

  • Great Stuff Window & Door (the consumer 12 oz can) and Loctite Window & Door Pro Foam were not in the intake.
  • Kraken Bond Xtreme Pro Window & Door, a 24 oz gun can with a Class A ASTM E84 claim on its sheet, is sold on the brand store and has not been matched to an Amazon listing.
  • Sprayman sells a window and door gun foam on its store, with a technical data sheet of its own, and a second one under the X-Climate Pro name with a separate sheet. Neither was matched to an Amazon listing in the September 7 intake, so neither has a record here. Both are on the list for the next intake.

Questions and answers

Window and door foam questions, answered

Every answer comes from a maker’s data sheet, safety data sheet or manual, or from the records on this page, and says which.

Ask your own
  1. Should I use spray foam around a new window, and does the window maker allow it? Buyer question

The foam makers sell window and door foam for that job: all four window and door data sheets we read, Kraken Bond Window & Door Pro, Stanley F902 and F902P and TYTAN Window & Door Extreme, list door and window frames or window fitting among their uses. They attach conditions. Stanley’s F902 says the foam is proven not to bow frames "when properly installed", and TYTAN’s sheet for its 24 oz can says "DOOR AND WINDOWS FITTING WITHOUT USING MECHANICAL COUPLING IS FORBIDDEN", warning that a lack of mechanical couplings may cause deformation of the mounted element. Whether a given window maker allows foam is a question for that maker’s installation instructions, and none of our records holds them.

  2. How do I foam around a door jamb without pinching the door? Buyer question

Fill the gap only part way and work from the bottom up; all four window and door data sheets we read (Kraken Bond Window & Door Pro, Stanley F902 and F902P, TYTAN Window & Door Extreme) give both instructions. Stanley’s F902P says "Do not fill the entire gap" because the foam will expand, and Kraken Bond’s sheet says not to fill the entire gap "at once". TYTAN’s sheet for its 24 oz can adds width limits for open woodwork: gaps over 1.18 in (3 cm) are not recommended, gaps over 1.97 in (5 cm) are unacceptable, and slots wider than 1.18 in are filled from the bottom in a zigzag from one wall to the other.

  3. Can window and door foam go on the outside of a window where the sun hits it? Buyer question

Yes, if the cured foam is covered: all four window and door data sheets we read ask for paint, plaster or a coating on cured foam outdoors or against UV light. Stanley’s F902P calls itself suitable for "interior, and exterior applications" and says to paint or coat the cured foam outdoors; Stanley’s F902 and Kraken Bond Window & Door Pro say cured foam will discolor in ultraviolet light; and TYTAN’s 24 oz Window & Door Extreme sheet asks for plaster or paint "Immediately after full foam hardening". Kraken also says "Do not apply in areas exposed to direct sunlight during application", while the Stanley and TYTAN sheets say the foam should not be used in places exposed to direct sunlight, without saying whether that means during spraying or afterwards.

  4. How soon can I trim window foam and put the casing on? Buyer question

The four window and door data sheets we read let you cut the foam within 45 minutes and put the full cure at 24 hours. Stanley’s F902 and F902P give a cutting time of 40 min or less to ASTM C1620, Kraken Bond Window & Door Pro gives 30 to 45 min, and TYTAN’s 24 oz Window & Door Extreme sheet gives 40 min or less for a foam strip of 3 cm diameter. TYTAN is the one that ties finish work to the cure in words: "The manufacturer recommends to commence finishing works after full hardening is completed, i.e. after 24 h." None of the sheets names casing or trim boards, and all four say the cure depends on temperature and humidity.

  5. How do I remove excess window foam without damaging the frame? Buyer question

Wet foam comes off with a foam cleaner and cured foam only mechanically, and the cleaner makers warn about the finish. The Stanley T244, Akfix 800C and Sprayman foam cleaner sheets all name window and door frames among the surfaces they clean, but Stanley’s and Akfix’s add that the cleaner "May damage sensitive surfaces", and Kraken Bond’s TE 101 sheet says "test before use" and lists paint among what it cleans off surfaces. Once the foam has cured the solvent no longer helps: Stanley’s T244 sheet says cured foam is "not affected by the solvent", and TYTAN’s Window & Door Extreme sheet says hardened foam may be removed mechanically, with a knife as its example. None of the four cleaner data sheets names a frame material, such as vinyl or aluminum, as safe or unsafe.

  6. How cold is too cold for window and door foam? Buyer question

It depends on the can: Stanley’s F902 sheet stops at 41 F for the air and the surface, Kraken Bond Window & Door Pro gives an application temperature down to 28 F, and TYTAN’s sheet for its 24 oz Window & Door Extreme can goes to -4 F ambient and substrate. All three give a can range of 41 to 86 F, and TYTAN adds "Applicator temperature cannot be lower than can temperature." Stanley’s F948P All Season Pro is sold on a 10 F claim that appears in the Amazon title only; Stanley lists a safety data sheet for it and no technical data sheet, and that safety data sheet gives no application temperature. The Stanley, Kraken and TYTAN sheets also warn that a drop below the minimum application temperature within 24 hours of applying can affect the seal or the foam’s performance.

  7. Which window foam actually documents low expansion? From the records

Stanley F902 and F902P and Kraken Bond Window & Door Pro state it in dated data sheets. Great Stuff PRO Window & Door states it on a web page with an SDS only. Akfix 805P states it in a listing title with no document behind it. TYTAN Window & Door Extreme has a dated sheet that states a low pressure, low expansion formula and names AAMA 812-19, but that sheet is for the 24 oz can, and the can in this list is the 12 oz straw can, which no document we hold names.

  8. Does any brand publish a pressure figure? From the records

No. Every can here describes the behavior in words. Two brands use the sentence "proven not to bow window or door frames when properly installed" and neither names the test. TYTAN's 24 oz sheet names AAMA 812-19, the assessment written for foam at a rough opening, as verified, and prints no figure or report number; its 80 to 110 percent post-expansion line is a volume figure, not a pressure result. That is why the page asks where the statement lives rather than how big the number is.

  9. Can I use a general gap filler around a window? From the records

Do not decide from the category name alone. Kraken Bond’s Gaps & Cracks sheet describes its foam as high expansion and, on the same sheet, lists fixing and insulating window and door frames; the brand also sells a separate low-expansion Window & Door Pro foam. Other general fillers likewise list frame use. Because none publishes pressure on the frame, use the window maker’s instructions and choose a product whose document states low expansion or low pressure for that opening.
