Akfix 805 vs Kraken Bond: The Cheaper Ounce Against the Dated Sheet
These two cans are sold side by side and priced apart. Akfix is the cheaper ounce in every pack both brands sell, and Kraken Bond is the one whose maker publishes a dated data sheet. This page prices that trade from the listings we read on the same day.
The short answer
Which one, and when neither
-
Akfix 805, if price is what decides it
It was the cheaper ounce in every pack both brands sell on the September 7, 2026 snapshot, and its 25.3 oz can is bigger than the 24 oz it is set against. What you give up is the paperwork: the data sheet link on the brand store was broken when we read it on September 8 and again on September 14, 2026, so no yield, no expansion figure and no gap width are published for this can anywhere we could read.
-
Kraken Bond, if you want the can documented
Its sheet is dated and revision-numbered and carries a volumetric yield of 8 to 12 gal with the test behind it, a density of 1.37 lb/ft3 and an application range from 28 F. That is four of our four evidence checks against two for Akfix, and the reason it sits #2 on the gap filler page while Akfix sits #10.
-
Neither, where the gap width or a fire rating is the question
Neither maker publishes a gap width for these cans, so for a joint near an inch wide choose a can whose maker states the limit; the gap filler page marks which ones do. Neither publishes a US surface-burning result either. Kraken Bond’s sheet gives DIN 4102 class B3, the lowest class of that German standard, and Akfix publishes nothing for this can.

Every cell is read from the product record at build time, with the document it came from. A row marks one side only when both were measured the same way, or when only one maker put the figure in writing; everything else is printed without a mark.

What would change this
The missing piece, named
- A working data sheet link on the Akfix store, with a yield and a gap width, would turn the price gap into a real comparison instead of a trade against missing paper.
- A gap width on the Kraken Bond sheet would give both cans the figure a buyer actually measures.
Asked about this pair
Questions people type, answered from the records
Is Akfix 805 the same as Kraken Bond Gaps & Cracks?
No, and they are not sold by the same company either. Akfix 805 reaches Amazon through Wios Global Trade LLC, which carries only the Akfix line in our intake, and Kraken Bond through Lotus Global Trade LLC, which carries Kraken Bond and Sprayman. Kraken Bond publishes a dated, revision-numbered data sheet for its can; on the two days we looked, Akfix published no readable data sheet for the 805.
How much cheaper is Akfix 805?
In the three packs both brands sell, the September 7, 2026 snapshot reads: $15.99 against $19.99 for two 12 oz cans, $29.99 against $29.99 where the Akfix cans are 25.3 oz and the Kraken Bond cans 24 oz, and $99.99 against $149.99 for twelve of those larger cans. Per ounce that is cheaper on all three, and the middle one is cheaper only because the can is bigger for the same money.
Does Akfix publish a data sheet for the 805?
Not one we could open. The brand store links a sheet for the 805 and the link was broken on September 8, 2026 and again on September 14, 2026, which is why the record says no data sheet was found and the can scores two of our four evidence checks. The brand store does state that the cured foam is mold-proof, water-proof and over-paintable, and that it can be trimmed and sanded.
Is either can rated for fire blocking?
Neither. Kraken Bond’s sheet prints DIN 4102 class B3, which is the lowest class of a German reaction-to-fire standard with no US equivalent, and no US surface-burning figure. Akfix publishes no fire figure for this can. A fireblocking claim needs a fireblocking evaluation with a report number, and our fire block page shows the two cans in our set that carry one.
How this page is built
Nothing here was sprayed by us
This comparison reads what each maker publishes and what the listings show; it is not a hands-on test. Every figure in the tables comes from the product records behind the full record pages, with the document it came from and the date we read it, and it changes on this page the day a record is re-read. A side is marked ahead only when both were measured the same way, or when only one maker put the figure in writing. The rules behind the order on the category pages are in the methodology.

A question these pages do not answer yet? Send it to the desk. Questions are answered from the same records as every page here, the makers’ documents and the listings, and are not published as they are sent.
When the records can answer one, it becomes a question page with a dated note that a reader asked it. Your name and address are never published. We cannot answer every question, and we cannot judge one house we have not seen.
Tell us if something here is wrong
Everything on this page is a dated reading of documents that can change. If you make or sell this product, or you have read something here that is wrong, send the document. Every submission is read against the record; where it changes the record, the change is dated on the page, and where it does not, the reply says why. A submission cannot buy a position or remove a finding the documents still support, and what moves a record is written down.
