Sprayman SprayCoat 24-Pack Review
SprayCoat is the cheapest foam per ounce in this comparison, and it is the reference the price line is built against: 314.95 dollars for 650.4 ounces works out at 48.4 cents an ounce, and every other kit is scored against that number. Its data sheet prints the surface-burning result in full, ASTM E84 and UL 723 at 2 inches with both indices, the same pair the leader publishes. Two things hold it at fourth. The sheet carries no date and no revision, so there is no way to tell whether the copy you are reading is current. And the retail page says 27.1 oz a can where the sheet’s own packaging table says 28.7, which is the first number any document check has to agree on. Neither the safety data sheet nor the fire test report is on sprayman.co, which publishes fourteen pages and not one documents page; both came back when our desk wrote and asked, so both score a point under a published document. All 44 reviews on its own store carry the platform’s verified-purchase label, the only store here at 100 percent.

Research summary, not a hands-on test. Product claims on this page are attributed to the sources and dates shown. Before use, read the exact product label, the current safety data sheet and the application instructions, and confirm ventilation, protective equipment, occupant isolation and re-entry or reoccupancy conditions. A surface-burning classification alone does not establish approval to leave foam exposed or to use it in a particular assembly. Included protective items may not meet every requirement for your job; select ventilation and protective equipment from the exact product instructions and the exposure conditions, not from what the box contains.

What to check first
Start with the can, because the two documents disagree about it. The retail page says 27.1 oz of foam per can and the data sheet’s packaging table says 28.7 oz. That is the first number any document check has to agree on, and here it does not. Ask which figure applies to the cans shipping now.
The fire statement is complete in the way that matters: ASTM E84 and UL 723 at a 2-inch thickness, flame spread 15 and smoke developed 40, which is the same result the category leader publishes. We have seen a test report for this product; the seller does not publish it, so neither do we.
The data sheet carries no date and no revision, so there is no way to tell whether the copy you are reading is current. Everything else on it is in order.

How the manufacturer describes it
The following is compiled from the manufacturer’s own statements on its data sheet, its official store and its marketplace listings. It is presented as the brand describes the product. We have not tested it and we do not adopt these claims.
- A one-component, moisture-cured closed-cell polyurethane foam for walls, ceilings, attics, basements, crawl spaces, rim joists and roof decks, applied with an applicator gun.
- Two nozzles per can, nozzle A for vertical surfaces and nozzle B for ceilings, sprayed 12 to 18 inches from a wall and 6 to 8 inches from a ceiling.
- A stated yield of up to 20 board feet at 1-inch thickness in one layer from about 16 inches, restated on the retail page as 20 square feet at 1 inch, which is the same volume in a different unit.
- R-5.66 per 1-inch layer and R-11.32 at 2 inches, with two 1-inch layers recommended and a 30-minute wait between them.
- Application and can temperature of 41 to 86 F, a 24-hour full cure and a 40-minute cutting time.
- Outdoor work must be covered or painted against UV and weather, and indoor work needs ventilation.

The FastCoat, SprayCoat, ThermCoat and SuperCoat documents state the same yield basis of 20 board feet at 1 inch, the same nozzle A for walls and nozzle B for ceilings, the same 1-inch layer advice with water misting between coats, and the same 24-hour cure with a 40-minute cutting time. The SprayCoat and ThermCoat data sheets also carry the same packaging line, 28.7 oz at a gross 2.05 lb with 12 to a box. We record that pattern and draw no conclusion from it: none of the four states a relationship with the others, and we have not established who manufactures any of them.

What the differences mean
The store and the data sheet give two different can sizes
The official product page lists a net weight of 27.1 oz. The data sheet’s packaging table lists 28.7 oz at a gross 2.05 lb, 12 to a box. Both are the seller’s own statements.
Why it matters. Net contents is the first line of any pack-to-document match and the denominator of every per-ounce comparison. Until the seller says which figure applies to the cans shipping now, the document and the box are not joined. The Akfix ThermCoat sheet carries the same 28.7 oz packaging line, which is recorded in our shared-sheet note.

The fire statement is complete on the sheet and reduced to a badge on the listing
The data sheet names ASTM E84 and UL 723, a 2-inch tested thickness and both indices. The Amazon title says fire rated and nothing more.
Why it matters. The sheet is the document to keep. A shopper reading only the listing sees a claim without the numbers that make it checkable.
Sources: Sprayman SprayCoat thermal and sound insulation data sheet · Amazon listing B0BVKVKXV7, SprayCoat 24-pack set
An undated data sheet
The sheet carries no issue date and no revision number. The FastCoat and Stanley SuperCoat sheets carry both.
Why it matters. Formulations change. Without a date and a revision, neither a buyer nor a building official can tell whether the sheet in hand describes the can in hand. It is a one-line fix for the manufacturer.
Sources: Sprayman SprayCoat thermal and sound insulation data sheet
Board feet and square feet used interchangeably
The Amazon title says 480 Sq.Ft and advertises an R-value at 2 inches in the same line. The data sheet basis is 20 board feet per can at 1 inch, so 24 cans is 480 board feet, which is 480 square feet only at 1 inch.
Why it matters. At the 2-inch layer the title advertises, 480 board feet finishes about 240 square feet. The manual’s own coverage guide shows exactly this, 20 square feet a can at one layer and 10 at two.

The same set is priced identically on all three channels
On September 7, 2026 the 24-can set was 314.95 dollars on the official store, on Amazon and in the Walmart variant family. Across every size both channels list, the official and Walmart ladders match to the cent.
Why it matters. Channel choice here is about stock, delivery and returns rather than price. Walmart also lists a foam-only box at each size, which the official store sells under a separate can-only line.

In the box
- 24 foam cans
- 1 applicator gun
- 2 gun cleaners
- Safety kit
Included protective equipment is close to standard across the kits in this category, so it is rarely a reason to choose one over another. What it is never a substitute for is the product’s own safety data sheet, the instructions and a work plan sized to your space and ventilation. No safety data sheet is published for this product on any channel we read.

These are platform-reported figures recorded on the access date, not a review sample we have drawn and not a measurement. A rating summarizes what a platform accepted and weighted. How coverage units work: coverage and yield.

Product overview
Sprayman markets SprayCoat as an easy-to-use closed-cell polyurethane foam with a Class A (ASTM E84) fire rating, aimed at both DIY and professional installs. The brand claims energy-bill reductions in the 40 to 60 percent range.
Manufacturer-stated features
- Closed-cell polyurethane foam
- Class A fire rated to ASTM E84 - manufacturer
- Manufacturer claims 40-60% energy-bill reduction
- Positioned for both DIY and professional insulation
- 24-can kit
Overview synthesized from the brand’s official page and the Amazon listing. Specifications are manufacturer claims, not independently verified.
The 24-pack claims 480 board feet - roughly a small garage at ~1 inch. One buyer covered a ~200 sq ft shed with a single 24-can box, so plan for real yield under the theoretical figure.

Reviews on the brand’s own shop, and how many carry the verified-purchase label
Every one of these carries the verified-purchase label
44 of 44 reviews on sprayman.co are matched to an order in that shop.
Every one of the 44 reviews carries the platform’s verified-purchase label, which no other store here manages. The pool is small, so a handful of new reviews would move the 4.77.
A shop’s own star rating is the number its seller controls most completely. This is how much of it the review platform could match to a real order placed in that shop. Verified means the platform matched the review to an order in that shop. Unverified does not mean false: it can be a buyer who ordered on a marketplace, a review imported from another platform, or one collected outside the shop’s checkout. Which of those applies is not published, so a reader cannot tell. Counted one page at a time on September 12, 2026.
Broadly positive, with customer service standing out as a genuine plus and dud cans the main risk.
Stands out: Multiple buyers name a responsive direct-store rep who shipped free replacements.
Buyers praise
- Fast application, roughly 1-2 minutes per can
- One 24-can box covered a ~200 sq ft shed for one buyer
- Responsive, named customer service on replacements
Buyers complain
- Some cans arrived that would not mix or set
- Globs and sags in tight, confined spaces
- Included eye protection rated as low quality
Buyer tip: Buyers suggest a practice can or two and bringing your own goggles.
