0 of four things confirmed

These are the four things we could check for a pest block can, and nothing else. Not a performance score: nothing on this page was applied or tested by us. How the pest block page is ordered.

  • Brand data sheeta safety data sheet or a brand page is published, no technical data sheet found
  • Claim checkableThis can claims no pesticide, so its claim is the seal itself and the test becomes the gap limit that seal works within. The limit is stated, up to 3 in, but it is stated on a brand web page. DuPont publishes no dated data sheet for this product, only an undated safety sheet, and this page does not accept a figure from a web page. Separately, the effectiveness wording goes further than a seal does; the desk note takes that up.
  • Brand-channel sellerSold by M&P Export Management Corporation, a reseller that lists Great Stuff, Enerfoam and DAP products. The brand itself is not the seller of record.
  • 100 or more ratings34 ratings on the anchor listing, under the 100 we ask for

Research summary, not a hands-on test. Product claims on this page are attributed to the sources and dates shown. Before use, read the exact product label, the current safety data sheet and the application instructions, and confirm ventilation, protective equipment, occupant isolation and re-entry or reoccupancy conditions. A surface-burning classification alone does not establish approval to leave foam exposed or to use it in a particular assembly.

The claim, in the seller's words

"Pest-free without the pesticides." "Controls critters, bugs, rats, and other pests from your home." "Won’t harm bees." "Expands to fill, seal, and insulate gaps up to 3 inches."

Where the line runs

Which side of the pesticide line this can's words fall on

The treated-article exemption at 40 CFR 152.25(a) covers a pesticide put into an article to protect that article, so a can with no pesticide in it sits outside that question. FIFRA asks a different one. A product can be a pesticide because of what it is represented to do, whatever is or is not inside the can, so what the reading turns on is the wording. The maker's own wording is below.

Says it has no pesticide

Pest-free without the pesticides. Controls critters, bugs, rats, and other pests from your home.

It says it has no pesticide, so this is a physical barrier claim and no registration number applies to it. "Controls ... pests from your home" is an effectiveness statement that goes further than a seal does; whether represented-purpose wording of that kind brings a pesticide-free article under FIFRA is a question for a regulatory specialist, and this page does not decide it. It is recorded as an open question, not as a finding against the can.

This is a reading of the maker's own words and nothing else. We have not tested this can, no maker in this category names its active ingredient, and the exemption also turns on that ingredient being registered for this use, which is the part nobody publishes. So this does not say a can is unlawful and we are in no position to say so. Every pest can in our set, side by side.

Our reading

The one pest can in the intake that says plainly what it is: a gap filler with no pesticide, whose pest function is the physical seal. That makes its claim the easiest to understand and the only one on this page that does not depend on a number nobody publishes. "Controls rats" is a stronger sentence than "seals openings," and rodents gnaw cured foam, so read it as a seal and add hardware cloth where a rodent is the problem. On Amazon it arrives through a reseller, often as a kit with gun, cleaner and copper mesh.

Still open

  • No technical data sheet from DuPont.
  • "Controls ... rats" is an effectiveness statement; the mechanism is a seal, and whether that wording carries a regulatory consequence is not decided here.

Each displayed price is what that listing showed on the date printed in its row; ratings were read October 29, 2026. A pack with no price is one where the listing showed none, where the figure contradicted another variant, or where its last successful read passed the freshness window. Prices are snapshots, each dated where it appears, not live figures, so check the seller before you pay.

Jobs where a can from this category is part of the answer

These pages name the category rather than this particular can. Each one sets out the constraint that decides the product for that assembly, the code section that applies, a worked quantity example, and where foam is the wrong answer.

  • Attics As gaps and cracks foam. Top plates, wire holes, plumbing chases and the hatch perimeter are gap-filler work; Loctite Tite Foam and Kraken Bond Gaps & Cracks carry the clearest sheets.
  • Rim joists As gaps and cracks foam. For the sill-to-foundation joint and the wire and pipe holes through the rim, before the surface foam goes on.
  • Crawl spaces As pest block foam. Crawl spaces are where pest claims are sold hardest; the page explains why foam alone is not a rodent barrier and what the pesticide claims do not publish.
  • Sheds As pest block foam. Sheds get mice. The page explains what the pest claims do and do not publish, and why hardware cloth comes first. As gaps and cracks foam. Sheds leak at the sill and the corners; the sealant goes on first.
  • Metal Buildings As gaps and cracks foam. Every screw line, conduit, hydrant and vent through a steel skin is an air path. Sealing those is cheap and it is the part of the job that pays back fastest.
  • Pole Barns As gaps and cracks foam. Every screw line, hydrant, conduit and vent through the skin is an air path, and in a barn the eave and the sliding door jambs are the big ones. Sealing those is cheap and it pays back fastest.
  • Sound Control As gaps and cracks foam. The part of this job that reliably works. Outlet boxes on a shared wall, the gap where a pipe or duct crosses between rooms, the perimeter of a partition at the top plate. Cheap, checkable, and it removes the paths that make an assembly rating meaningless.

Questions about Great Stuff PRO Pestblock

Answered from this product’s documents and listings, the same records the rest of this page is built from.

Ask your own
  1. Does Great Stuff PRO publish a data sheet for the Pestblock? From the records

A safety data sheet or a brand page is published, no technical data sheet found.

  2. Can the pest block claim on this can be checked? From the records

This can claims no pesticide, so its claim is the seal itself and the test becomes the gap limit that seal works within. The limit is stated, up to 3 in, but it is stated on a brand web page. DuPont publishes no dated data sheet for this product, only an undated safety sheet, and this page does not accept a figure from a web page. Separately, the effectiveness wording goes further than a seal does; the desk note takes that up.

  3. Who sells the Great Stuff PRO Pestblock on Amazon? From the records

Sold by M&P Export Management Corporation, a reseller that lists Great Stuff, Enerfoam and DAP products. The brand itself is not the seller of record.

We have not sprayed or tested this product. Every figure above names the document or listing it came from, and where a maker publishes nothing the record says so. The photograph is the maker's own product shot where one is published; this one came from the brand store. Read the rating method and our editorial policy.

Great Stuff PRO has a right of reply

Everything on this page is a dated reading of documents that can change. If you make or sell this product, or you have read something here that is wrong, send the document. Every submission is read against the record; where it changes the record, the change is dated on the page, and where it does not, the reply says why. A submission cannot buy a position or remove a finding the documents still support, and what moves a record is written down.
