3 of four things confirmed
These are the four things we could check for a fire block can, and nothing else. Not a performance score: nothing on this page was applied or tested by us. How the fire block page is ordered.
- Brand data sheeta technical data sheet is published by the brand
- Claim checkableThe dated sheet ties a full UL 723 result to the 24 oz can this listing sells, and ICC-ES ESR-3302, which TYTAN names, evaluates this foam for keeping wood fireblocking intact where it is penetrated, on NFPA 286 room-corner test reports. That is a fireblocking result with a report number that can be looked up, within the report’s limits: Type V-B and non-rated residential construction, at most 12 sq in of exposed foam per sq ft of wall, and not a firestop.

Research summary, not a hands-on test. Product claims on this page are attributed to the sources and dates shown. Before use, read the exact product label, the current safety data sheet and the application instructions, and confirm ventilation, protective equipment, occupant isolation and re-entry or reoccupancy conditions. A surface-burning classification alone does not establish approval to leave foam exposed or to use it in a particular assembly.

Our reading
A fire block can whose sheet prints a complete surface-burning result, UL 723 to ASTM E84 at flame spread 15 and smoke developed 10, and whose maker names an evaluation report for the fireblocking claim itself. ICC-ES ESR-3302 assesses the foam under AC546, the criteria for foam used to keep wood fireblocking intact where pipes and wires pass through it, on NFPA 286 room-corner tests. That is what this page asks of a fire block can. Read the report’s limits with it: Type V-B construction under the IBC and non-rated construction under the IRC, at most 12 sq in of exposed foam per square foot of wall, and not a firestop, which the sheet also says in its own words. Read the rest of the sheet’s table too: it prints DIN 4102 class B3, the lowest class of that standard, and EN 13501-1 class F, the class for no performance determined; those come from other test systems and sit beside the UL 723 pair without contradicting it. What it is built for is heat: 113 F ambient and can temperature without shrinking, which is the reason the number is in the name.

Each displayed price is what that listing showed on the date printed in its row; ratings were read October 29, 2026. A pack with no price is one where the listing showed none, where the figure contradicted another variant, or where its last successful read passed the freshness window. Jobs where a can from this category is part of the answer
These pages name the category rather than this particular can. Each one sets out the constraint that decides the product for that assembly, the code section that applies, a worked quantity example, and where foam is the wrong answer.
- Attics As fire block foam. Where a penetration between floors is a fireblocking location, the orange can needs a real surface-burning result; the fire block page sorts the claims.
- Garages As fire block foam. Penetrations through the separation wall are where a fireblocking claim is actually asked for.

TYTAN Professional has a right of reply
Everything on this page is a dated reading of documents that can change. If you make or sell this product, or you have read something here that is wrong, send the document. Every submission is read against the record; where it changes the record, the change is dated on the page, and where it does not, the reply says why. A submission cannot buy a position or remove a finding the documents still support, and what moves a record is written down.
